These are my top 5 self improvement books that have had the most influence on me.
- How to Win Friends & Influence People
by Dale Carnegie – This book singlehandedly changed how I interact with people. Growing up I was a very very introverted person with little to no self esteem. I had to read this book a couple of times to really get it, but once I did I started seeing people in a new light. Now I am excited about people and what I can learn from them and how we can help each other have even greater lives.
- Think and Grow Rich
by Napolean Hill -This is one of the first books that I read growing up that most likely sparked my entrepreneur streak. The title alone explains one of the major keys to success in which you have to think first, then grow rich. You have to believe and act like a millionaire before you can become one.
- The 4-Hour Workweek
by Tim Ferriss – I heard about this book by following SXSWi which is a big web design convention. The concept sounded very interesting to me so I picked up the book. I’m really happy I did because from it I have learned the power of Outsourcing. There is no way I can do everything myself, and the more I can outsource, the more I can get done and the more money I can make.
- The Maui Millionaires
by Diane Kennedy and David Finkel – This book introduced me to the concept of masterminds. I had heard of them in the past but didn’t really understand the concept. After reading Maui Millionaires I truly believe that anyone who wants to be massively successful needs to be involved in a mastermind group.
- The Secret Code of Success
by Noah St. John – I’ve known for a long time that the majority of success is mental. I figured I had some great Why’s and How’s to become super successful. And I do. The problem was, I never addressed the Why-Not To’s of success and was subconciously holding myself back. The concept of Afformations is also an amazingly powerful thing that I learned in this book. Instead of using empowering statements, which our mind will sometimes argue with, it uses empowering questions. Such as “Why am I so rich?” To learn more about just afformations, I created a primer which you can download at http://drop.io/afformations
